Annotate and redact a capture

Draw attention to something, or permanently hide it before you share.

  1. After a capture, open the preview editor (the default quick action can be set to Edit in Options).
  2. Select Annotate to turn on drawing mode.
  3. Use Rectangle and Arrow to point at something, and Redact to permanently black out an area.
  4. Redaction is applied to the exported image, not laid over it — the hidden pixels are gone from the file you share.
  5. Use Ctrl/Cmd+Z and Ctrl/Cmd+Y to undo and redo while drawing.
